Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif orders strict action against human trafficking groups

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to take stringent legal action against human trafficking groups in Pakistan, aiming to set a strong example and eradicate this crime. Speaking at a meeting in Islamabad on Monday, the prime minister emphasized the need for immediate action to confiscate the properties and assets of individuals involved in human trafficking.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the importance of making the prosecution process more effective against those involved in this illegal and heinous activity. He called for consultations with the Ministry of Law and Justice to ensure that the most competent lawyers are appointed for the prosecution of human traffickers.
In addition, the Prime Minister instructed the Foreign Office to reach out to relevant countries where Pakistanis may be operating human trafficking rings and take swift action for their extradition to Pakistan. This measure aims to ensure that traffickers face justice, regardless of where their crimes are committed.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif orders strict action against human trafficking groups. Urged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to collaborate with the Ministry of Interior to launch an awareness campaign. The campaign will educate the public about the importance of using legal channels for overseas employment to prevent exploitation through illegal means.
